Cambridge soundworks P1000 for under $400, good or bad?

Cambridge Soundworks (Needham,MA) is having a re-construction sale, and is selling new P1000's for under $400. I haven't read much about CS products on this site, and I want to know if this is a deal that I should jump at? Also, the wife thinks it looks like a piece of fine furniture, which I guess is plus for me.

Hi Bosox,
That sub usually goes for $1,000.
All their speakers are on sale, some 50% off; new models coming out soon.
I've never heard that sub. Though, anything I have from them I'm very happy with.
I have their M80 bookshelves, they're well made and sound great. (to me) They also have a 10 year warrantee.
Also have the radio CD745 it compares well to the Bose wave radio, at a fraction of the price.

No link. This sale is just the Needham,MA store(remodel madness prices)I picked up the Newton P1000 this afternoon for $399 ,the P500 is going for $239 and the Newton T500 Towers are going for $599 a pair (usually 2 grand). I don't know about shipping,maybe give the store a call.

Here's a link: Newton Series P1000 subwoofer. Doesn't seem like too bad a deal for $399. On sale on the website for $499. As an aside, I have a set of Cambridge Soundworks S300 surround speakers, and they work quite well.

A buddy of mine had a P1000 and he came to listen to my PB-10. The PB-10 hit just as hard and went deeper than the CSW, and the PB-10 is already $429 normally. The P1000 is a good sub and that is a good price for it, it just isn't worth the MSRP price.
