First Blue Jeans Cable experience

Hey all,

Just wanted to give kudos to BlueJeans Cable. I know they are very well liked around here but this was my first purchase from them and I wanted to add my two cents to the pot.

A couple of weeks ago I order a 35 foot BJC Series-1 Belden Bonded-Pair HDMI Cable to pre-wire in for a future projector. Cost was/is $98 USD. Within an hour of ordering I received an e-mail that it shipped. It entered Canada the day after shipping and then I waited 10 days for customs clearance. Got it home yesterday and ripped into the box to pull out my new 35 foot garden hose (Not really, it is just one thick cable and for whatever reason that makes me feel good)

I took it downstairs and compared it to the 6 foot HDMI cable I had purchased previously to run in-wall from my AVR to my TV. The 6 foot cable immediately went limp from cable envy .

I proceeded to go back upstairs to the BlueJeans Cable site and order a 6 foot HDMI cable of the same make as above. Within 30min I received an e-mail that it had shipped.

Granted I have no idea how the cable will actually "look" when hooked up, but I very much trust that it will be excellent.

I had initially waivered about ordering out of that States as I have had less than good experience in the past. I am glad I bit the bullet and ordered from BlueJeans Cable, great prices, great service, and a cable I could tow my truck with

Thanks for the "thanks" and you are welcome for the feedback. I decided to purchase from BJC solely based on what I had read on this site. Before finding this site I had never heard of BJC and was a Monster/Future Shop cable purchaser.

I now own the tools to make my own component/subwoofer/rca cables from RG6-QS coxial cable and am a much wiser consumer (noobie audioholic).

I also love to go to future shop and listen in on the conversations between sales people and their customers and on occasion have stopped someone from buying something they were being mislead about.

This is a great site and the "Thanks" should go out to all those involved in it.

Yes, I agree 100%. There is absolutely no reason to buy cables from anyone else, unless you just get really cheap and buy from Monoprice, which is also pretty good, but not as good as BJC!

They have definitely got my vote. Other than the ones I make myself, all my cables will be BJC as well.

i think everything I have bought from them is HDMI related, and i've bought quite a lot. I agree with the "garden hose" thickness of the cables.

shipping to canada with BJC never took 10 days of customs, from the time of ordering, probably took 5-6 days total. is calgary located at the east or west side? or center?

i have a question though, do their interconnect cables/speaker cables look like "garden hoses" as well? or do they look like standard belden cables?

I don't know about the analog audio cables, but the component video cables can be ordered either bundled or loose. I chose bundled and they are larger than a garden hose LOL.... I would imagine with the multichannel analog cables, that would be a huge bundle, so you might want them loose.

yeah, customs is a pain. A couple of other things I ordered recently from the states took no time at all through customs but for whatever reason that particular BJC order sat for 10 days in customs. I have another HDMI on order from them so we will have to see how long that one takes.

Regardless, it won't have any impact on me ordering from them.
