I have been looking at some of the plate amp offerings. This includes the offerings at PE, Oaudio, Keiga, Rythmik, and Elemental Designs. I noticed that some are "Bash" amps and others are class "G" . Still yet, some have a PEQ built in and others do not. Elemental has one that has 1300 watts RMS but no PEQ. PE has one rated at 1024 watts RMS at 4ohms with a PEQ. Therefore, my question is what should I really be looking for and how much power is really needed??? My sub will be in a small sealed enclosure with lots of articulate, tight, punchy, well-controlled bass in the 30 Hz -90 Hz range. I have not made any decisions just yet but have looked at many of the diy kits out there. Thus, I have narrowed it down to the Dayton kits OR the Rythmik if I choose to go that route. However, the Dayton HF drivers have really got me thinking about going a different route. I do NOT need a sub to play any lower than 30 Hz as my SVS PB12-NSD does that superbly. My goal is to ascertain more musicality and that is why I prefer a sealed enclosure. Lastly, are there any other plate amps I need to look at besides those mentioned above? Thank you for your time. Please feel free to share your thoughts.
