That just means in 6 months you'll be getting a projector. She should learn if you don't go all out the first time you will have to do it again ;). UPGRADE TIME!
Oh wow, you beat me to the projector!

PJ is out; she would have let me get one but there is just no good way to put it in our house. The 73" seems really big or maybe even the perfect size from 11 feet away. Oh and the HDMI 1.3 AVR is a given; I told her we had to have that to make the DLP work properly.;)

Oh wow, you beat me to the projector!

Well, yeah, most women would love to have a beautiful looking TV. I bet she would love it even more if you had a Pioneer Elite 60" plasma. She probably wouldn't mind if you also got a sexy Denon 4308ci, some great looking bookself+subwoofer system, and a cool looking Sony or Panasonic Blu-ray player. But that's probably as far as any woman will go.

She probably wouldn't go for a bunch of room treatments, 4 amps, 3 pre-amps, and a bunch of separate components and cables. But then again, you might not go for it either:)
That's probably true. After I upgrade to the Denon 3808, Axiom M60s and Bluray, we'll see where she stands.

New equipments keep on showing up in my HT, and my wife doesn't even notice! If she does notice, the line is, "Honey, I just traded my old one in for a new one before the warranty ran out.":D

No bills ever show up. No purchase transactions on our credit card statement. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Quiet. Everybody is happy:)
Hee, hee!

Greg, you could also try doing what my brother did. He got a huge subwoofer and new receiver, and he told his wife that he got them cheap from a guy in his company that was moving to Finland and didn't want to bring them overseas with him. Gotta admire the ingenuity. :)

Later, the receiver stopped working, so he got a new one. Apparently, she never noticed (just like AcuDef's wife).

I guess I lucked out, the cavewife doesn't care, as long as the bills are paid, she couldn't care less. She was so nice that after our cleaning lady trashed my Panny receiver, she got me the new flagship model, now that's got to count for something!:D BTW I told her I'm transfering the 42" Panny plasma to the bedroom and replacing it with the new 50" Panny, her response: honey, as long as the bills are paid! Now, I feel forced to go out and buy the darn thing.

I hope I can get this DLP looking good. The BR movie last night was awesome but SD looks really bad. I just ordered HD from DirectTV so maybe that will make it all ok.
If the switch to DirectTV doesn't clean up the SD channels, I heartily recommend the Algolith Flea.

It did an awesome job cleaning up my crappy SD cable channels, to the point where SD over HDMI looked nearly as good as my HD via component video.

Sadly, my cable company disabled my HDMI connection after about an hour of use, since they "do not support HDMI". I've since switched to Bell ExpressVu satellite service and the SD resolution is much better. Even still, the Flea seems to clean up the images from the satellite signal, but not as dramatically due to the better source.

Then again, I'm only using a 40" LCD and your new DLP may need to be fed much cleaner signal due to the size of the screen. If the new provider doesn't get you much better SD resolution, the Flea should help.
