Aww man no more upgrades?!

I am sure you will manage a few in a little while ;). FYI the link you posted from racks and stands doesn't work.

Your system must sound awesome though. Congrats on being "done" ;).

IIRC, you said earlier she wants a pool and outdoor kitchen. That's going to cost, oh $40K or more. But you're done after a few thousand? Yeah, that sounds fair. ;)

From now on, everything just has to be a "stealth aquisition". ;)

Hide the receipts.

I guess you will just have to sit her down and explain that with your hobby shut down, she will be the singular object of your attention. You will dote on her 16 hours a day, take an interest in what she wears, what she eats, who she sees, what she reads, etc., etc., etc.

A couple of weeks of that over-attentive affection and you'll be back in the hobby in no time.

Hey...that's not funny.

So far I am unimpressed with the DLP. I think I have just ran into the "SD looks like crap" scenerio; it always looked fine on my plasma and LCD. I am about to pop-in a BR DVD and see if I change my mind; if it looks good I will have to make one more upgrade to a HD DVR.

New equipments keep on showing up in my HT, and my wife doesn't even notice! If she does notice, the line is, "Honey, I just traded my old one in for a new one before the warranty ran out.":D

No bills ever show up. No purchase transactions on our credit card statement. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Quiet. Everybody is happy:)

I'm lucky...

I must have gotten lucky. My wife likes HT stuff and appreciates high quality audio and video almost as much as I do! In fact, she's the one that talked me into my 52" Mits DLP (which I love).

She does have standards in terms of how stuff looks in the room, but other than that, if we can afford it, we can get it. :D

Well, yeah, most women would love to have a beautiful looking TV. I bet she would love it even more if you had a Pioneer Elite 60" plasma. She probably wouldn't mind if you also got a sexy Denon 4308ci, some great looking bookself+subwoofer system, and a cool looking Sony or Panasonic Blu-ray player. But that's probably as far as any woman will go.

She probably wouldn't go for a bunch of room treatments, 4 amps, 3 pre-amps, and a bunch of separate components and cables. But then again, you might not go for it either:)

The biggest issue was the fact that I purchased the 50" plasma 6 months ago and I have already replaced it!

I hope I can get this DLP looking good. The BR movie last night was awesome but SD looks really bad. I just ordered HD from DirectTV so maybe that will make it all ok.

That just means in 6 months you'll be getting a projector. She should learn if you don't go all out the first time you will have to do it again ;). UPGRADE TIME!

Please, it is all a front for all the stealing you do.:D

You should have gotten a projector Greg. Just start saving change for your next A/V purchase (kinda like a rainy day jar, but for A/V) and work toward your HDMI 1.3 receiver purchase.:D
