Hey Guys,

I just "took the red pill" and went HD-DVD. I could not resist the deal. Amazon is having a deal where you get the A2 and three combo discs that cost $28 each, all for $210! I can't believe it.

You just add the A2 to your cart. Then add three different HD-DVD + DVD combo discs to the cart. Choose free shipping. It comes to like $210. I chose 300, Happy Feet, and The Departed. There is no link or anything else, the discounts come off when you have all that stuff in the cart and click checkout. You can see the discount before you purchase so you know you are getting it.

Also, you get the 5 free via mail with this. I am stoked.

Hmmmm, this link is showing $226. That's a great deal if it's still available. I got my A2 for $199 delivered from Crutchfield in June. I mailed off for the five free HD DVD's and received an email recently that said they wouldn't be shipped until September 15th. So don't look for the freebies anytime soon.

Yeah, I jumped on this also.
Although, I already have a Toshiba XA1, and a Samsung BD-P1200.

Just I could not stay away from that buy button, and picked up another HD DVD player (the A2) and 20 movies..... (some in Blu Ray)

The A2 was actually my first HD player, and originally I returned it.
But with such a great deal, I figured I would use the player in another room.

Part of the problem here might be caused by the fact that only HD DVD players sold by Amazon and not other retailers through Amazon qualify and Amazon is having trouble staying in stock.

If you want this deal it ends September 23 I think and you need to purchase everything through Amazon itself, not its sellers.

The PS3 deal is still good though. Since the deal is good through the 23rd, I'd say they are just out of stock on the A2.

No you can't because it isn't listed any longer...if you do a search, all that are listed are from distributors other than Amazon which doesn't qualify you for the 3 extra discs. The deal itself has been removed from Amazon altogether as of today apparently. I would figure that would mean they are out of stock.

They have pretty much the same deal going on with the 360 HD-DVD Add-on drive for $179.99, you get 2 movies free instantly and mail-in for 5 more. I got 300 and Batman Begins!

Don't worry a better a deal will come as we get closer to Christmas, if you're not in a hurry it'll be wise to wait.

Yep, I would have waited if that Amazon steal wouldn't have been available.

It looks awesome on the projector with DVD's. I can't wait to see if with HD DVD. I am waiting on a couple from Amazon as well as Blockbuster online

The Deal is back up! Except now it is only two free Hd-DVd's and the Player comes to about 230 for the A2. But you can get any of the toshiba units now if you are willing to pay for the nicer player.
