Another question. Currently I have my AVR, DVD, CD and 3 amps connected to my power strip so that when I turn on the receiver it triggers these components to come on at the same time. How will this affect the 880s performance.? Do I have to remove the trigger switch and make the components standalone for the 880 to work properly?

I think I am going to order the remote today. Do any of you know where I can get a good price for it online.

Thanks

You can control the state of power of each device in your remote - very customizable. And you can control when each device powers on.

Send me a PM if you want and I'll give you the info to the Ebay store that I purchased mine from. I paid $131.95 plus 9.95 shipping.

I received my Logitech Harmony 880 remote today. I bought it on Ebay for $139 with free shipping. Now maybe my wife can figure out how to watch TV and DVD's. It was very easy to program using my PC and their internet site.

Good choice; I think you will like it.

Now that I have a PS3 and the Harmony wont control it; I have pulled the Yamaha remote back out so I am back up to 3 remotes. If I cant have just one then I might as well have the easy function of the actual remote for the device.

Isn't the point of a universal to be so customizable that it is as easy or easier than the original if properly set up? ;) Thats what my plan is once I will be able to use a universal with my ps3. So far from the remotes I have gotten to play with Universal Remote Control seems to have the best.

That is part of the point; the other is to get rid of a bunch of remotes. You do have to scroll through a few pages to get to certain functions and it is just easier to use the original remote for this.
