Can this be feasable

I am new to the forum and by no means consider myself anything but an enthusiastic HT guy. My HTR room has a closet that is empty and I was thinking, which could be dangerous, has anyone turned a closet into a subwoofer and if so is it feasable or being a stationary object would it be more hit or miss type thing. I am running two subs now and the room is not very big, 15 x 15, and any other ideas as to utilize that space would be fun to hear. Thanks.........:)

I have heard a little about infinite baffleing but have no idea what it is. Is the ib cult a website?

I will check it out, I guess it is not widely done in normal HTR's due to the low feedback on the thread. Thanks again..........

No, this is a special application and you need lots of space behind the driver/s.
Not sure if you closet would be large enough. The door would have to be replaced and solid, no movement what so ever.
Some folks use attic space, others crawl space or basement, like Tom Nousaine, with a plenum to the upstairs. And, if the space is exposed to the outside, like an attic or vented crawl space, you better check the neighbors.:D

No it isn't that big it is about 4' deep 3.5'wide and 7' high and it is an under the stairwell closet so it doesn't face outside. I was thinking of useing it for my rack set up but I am still undecided. Sounds to me like that would probably be a better idea than to use it for audio purposes. Thanks for the input guy's.

The only problem or not, as a component cabinet is ventilation. It sound interesting and probably a good idea, just make sure it has ventilation.

I think if I go that route I will take the door off and use a very lightweight black curtain and maybe a couple of small fans to keep the air circulating.

I think that would be enough for an IB. There is a thread on the cult site about a guy who did just that and had good results. He used a single FI Q18 driver. That driver has plenty of exursion. It displaces 6.5 liters according to the Cult of IB website.

Well I haven't ruled it out but I will definitly have to do some research on IB.

For that closet, you could do 2/Q15s @ 2ohms in series = 4 ohm load.
