I am calling AcuDefTechGuy out on the GLS locking banana plugs. I hooked all my gear up last night using my new GLS's and though they look great and I love how they term the wire; the locking sucks. It is hard to turn the locking barrel and difficult to ever get them tight.
Really?
I used the locking bananas from Blue Jeans Cable, and they work GREAT!
REALLY! Honestly! When completely loose, the locking bananas glide easily into my Acurus terminals. Then when I tighten the "locks", they are EXTREMELY tight and firm. They are awesome! I mean if I had known about these locking bananas from Blue Jeans earlier, I would have installed 44 of them! But now I'm too lazy to uninstall all of them and reinstall. So right now, I have about 12 locking bananas and the rest are just bare wires. One of these days I WILL install the rest:)

But I will DEFINITELY get the Blue Jeans locking bananas, and NO ONE else.

If I were not so cheap, I would get Blue Jeans Cables for every wire, cable, and locking banana plug! But since I am cheap, I got Monoprice interconnects and HDMI cables.

You might want to try the Blue Jeans Locking Bananas and see if I'm right:)

I love the Outlaw Audio cables, but they don't custom make cables like Blue Jeans.

I feel your pain, man!

I originally bought a bunch of banana plugs from Monoprice---they do not have locking bananas. Those things are so cheap. They almost instantly came loose after insertion into the terminals. Of course, I found this out after I had installed ALL of them! So I ended up uninstalling ALL of them and just used bare wires-----until I noticed that Blue Jeans sold LOCKING bananas. So I bought 12 (6 pr) to try out. They look great and they installed great. I wouldn't get anything else. I actually think they look a little better than the GLS. The Blue Jeans Locking bananas are SILVER, and the GLS are BLACk. I think silver looks cooler, but that's just me.

I'm telling you. These locks install easily into the terminals & they lock extremly tight! There is no way they will come off the terminals unless you unscrew the locks!

The Blue Jeans would cost you $55 for 20, but apparently they work a lot better.

Noway I am starting over; They fit well into the paradigms but they were really tight in the Klipsch; I had to pull one out with pliers; I thought it was going to pull the whole binding post out!

I would not change either. If you can get them that tight, there is no point of changing to anything else. So your complaint is actually about loosening the locks once you have tightened them? Well, they need to be tight anyway. Maybe that's a sign telling you NOT TO SPEND any more money on speakers!:)

I have a Panamax 1000 & 500. You can get those Panamax pretty cheap on eBay. I don't know about the other Power Line Conditioners, but I know from experience that the Panamax can eliminate radio interference. It works for me.

For a good DVD player, you're looking at around $200 new. So I think you might as well get a HDDVD player from Toshiba (HD-A2) for $238 new, which also upconverts standard DVD to 1080i resolution.
