Hi all,
Well the HT is nearing completion, so I thought that it was time to post some pictures. The following pictures are of the basement before any equipment was added.

And we tried to do a panoramic shot, it did not get stitched together too well, but you get the idea.

More pictures to come....

The first component arrives...

I'm giddy with excitement! The SVS PB12-Plus/2 arrives...

Look at the shine on the piano gloss finish! Ooh... Ahh...

Our cat is checking out her reflection for cryin' out loud.

Dang, that thing is huge!

Great pics so far...keep 'em coming! I can't wait to see how things came together for you two.

That sub is just downright beautiful. I wish that I had room (and more lower back strength) to get one of those boxes. I went with the cylinder, instead, but that box is just so impressive.

P.S. Cute cat, BTW!

Hurry up, and get it done so we can have the SuperBowl Party at your place.

The room looks great so far. And the finish on that sub is awesome.

Hi,

That sub is just downright beautiful. I wish that I had room (and more lower back strength) to get one of those boxes.
Lets just say that the process of moving that behemoth from the garage to the basement was a Herculean task. It involved me, Lady Phoenix, and a hand cart. I was at the bottom of the cart while Lady was at the top. We just took it one step at a time. I had a bruise on my bicep for two weeks after we moved it into the basement!

Ah, a true mark of honor and courage. Plus, a nice conversation starter.

"Hey, Pheaton, how'd you get that bruise?"

"Here, let me show you."

*Leads friend into basement - Friend turns corner and sees reflection in sub.*

"Oh, sweet mother of all that is good and pure..."

Hi,

Looks great! Where did you get your posters/frames?
I bought the posters online, allposters.com, I think about 3 years ago as a Christmas present for Lady Phoenix and then had a local framing store frame them.

Walt,
If you're looking for poster frames, you'll find that prices very exponentially. MANY can be very costly, but there are several sellers on the internet that make quality products for the budget minded.

Is is one of them, and where I bought my frames.
http://www.wholesaleposterframes.com/index.php
A lot of these companies also have Ebay stores where they sell in discount packages of 2,4,6 frames.

There are also many sources for posters. Like Pheaton pointed out, allposters.com, movieposter.com, etc, etc, etc.....

Hi,
Okay here are some more pictures;

This was after the equipment was installed, but before we had the shelving installed.

Here is the shelving minus the drawer fronts. They had to be reordered since they did not fit together properly.

This shot is just for No. 5.;)

Enjoy, more to follow...

You guys have a great looking system and I bet it sounds amazing too!

What brand are those interconnects you have that look like bungie cords?

Hi,
You guys have a great looking system and I bet it sounds amazing too!

What brand are those interconnects you have that look like bungie cords?

We are happy with the sound so far, but we have some work to do with the sub to get it just right. I think we have run into some room mode peaks. It is particularly bad with LOTR- Fellowship of the ring. Actually I read through your thread about EQing a sub and found it helpful and informative. So thanks for that.

The interconnects are Audioquest cables. Now wait just a second.... They are only temporary, the Marantz is an SACD player so we needed to get some interconnects so the CI came over with these and hooked them up to see how we liked the sound. And they sound just fine, but not at that price. We will be going with another set of interconnects in the near future. I will do another shot of the reciever once everything is all set.

Glad my thread could help :). After having used the SMS-1 for a while I am extremely happy with it and can strongly recommend one. If you want a good deal I am more than happy to pass on the source WarpDrv gave me just send me a pm. I would suggest finding the proper place for your sub before getting the EQ though, I used REW as I am sure you know from the thread, it works very well and helped me greatly. Then I would suggest treatments and finally the EQ. Good Luck!

Glad to hear you guys are keeping a level head about the cables!

You have great taste in decorating (or the missus does). The HT looks elegant and makes me want to be there. Very nice. Good show!!
