Teflon tape performance is determined primarily by the level and balance of tensile strength. These factors, along with the combination of thickness and density are crucial to the effectiveness of the tape.

How many times did you need to rap it around your Head to come up with this data, and did you ever get to your neck before passing out?;)

I use a different level of protection for my head.

I know what you are saying, but my wife had no idea what wires I was using. She didn't know I was changing speaker wires, she thought I was hooking up a dvd recorder. When I turned the system back on, she said "It sounds different."
But a person seeing a change happen would than be expecting a change to happen.
So, basically, I'm getting that it really shouldn't matter what type of wire I use as long as the wire is of decent quality and is the proper gauge for the length I'm running. Does that seem to be the general consensus? --I can still hear a difference in the wires though, but thank all of you for the input.

Yep, that's the consensus. :)

However, if you want some vaguely scientific evidence of an audible change; have someone change out the wires at some day and time without your knowledge, have it a month or two experiment, see if you can tell what day (or days) the change was made... and no peeking. ;)

Just one pair of interconnects; form my universal player to integrated amp.

Speaker wires are DIY.

Then you should be proud....Speaker Wire, DYI.!

Hey…I purchased some PS Audio Speaker cables for cheep because I problems I had with DIY. The point is…what ever floats your Boat! All of us have different experiences, What worries me more then any manufacturer that is spouting their Kool-Aid is the person who states they are the de-bunker.

There is no difference between the people who say’s ID Brands are the best or the people who are aligned with brands purchased over the internet as being the best, or DIY!

It is always the person who say’s “Are You Going to Believe Me or Your Lyin Ears as the person with the Hidden Agenda, unless I know them, or, I can see where they are coming from, they will also be suspect…just like that song by the Sex Pistols.

There is a difference in sound between silver and coper speaker cable. I can hear the difference....cant you?
Is this serious question? What is the difference, please explain, seriously.:D

No it is a fact...You can hear the difference between Silver and Copper speaker wire.....you listen to my 703 speaker with silver and they will shreek on silver cables... The silver cables cost more money, and I did a blind testing with more then two people. Go and try it and see what you THINK. Also...I THINK you are wrong...it would cost me more money for something I don't want. You THINK?
PS: Really like your BP7000 for HT
A fact? Because you think you did a blind test? Interestingly, no one else can do what you claim to have done, if the wires were of equivalent gauges. 24ga and 12 ga is not equivalents.

You mean your ears always tell you the truth? Really? You never imagine someone saying something to you and be told no one said a word? Really?
I guess the marketeers did a fine job.

First what you do is get a pair of B&W 703 speaker and get a pair of copper and Silver speaker cables...... then Do a Double Blind Test....In stead of acting like it is BS...seriously. Try it! Or you can do a Blind test on the Taste of different Peoples Vomit. Then you can say ”Are you going to believe me or your lyin Taste buds! But then it may be their vomit?

Now....I think you should be the poster child for this statement "What worries me more then any manufacturer that is spouting their Kool-Aid is the person who states they are the de-bunker"

And your new Reining "Mr. Agenda 2007" is "mtrycrafts" Applause!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s ok let’s blame it on the Marketers…. You need to blame someone. It couldn’t be a really good product, could it?

They are different metals, and you are worried about gauge! DOAH..... if you want I can tell you?

Silver is about 5% more conductive than Copper. The signal travels down the speaker wire at a speed about 70% of the speed of light. The difference between silver and copper is pretty much nil.

It is more of an issue then gauge at 8 feet

How so? Do you realize how fast light travels? A 30% drop in efficiency would not matter and with speeds like that a difference in 5% efficiency wouldn't matter either. I will join the group of people who think before they buy and suggest you try a double blind test before you try to convince us that snake oil really works.

Yes, please, tell me in detail and EVIDENCE that it has issues of audibility.

I think B&W700guy has COOL speaker wire...

Note to self: go buy some new speaker wire and quit using the same cheap wire you have been using for the past 12 years. There must be some point that they are just too old.
