BIC or AV123 X-sub, pretty much equal (according to some) with the edge to the BIC for HT and X-sub for music.

I really want someone to try this out and give us their impressions.

Finally, I don't feel alone recommending this sub. You have no idea how many times I have recommended it and it seems like no one notices it. Maybe it is the whole putting the woofer and amp in the cabinet that people can't get past. It isn't rocket science, it is possibly just as simple as ordering it.

Come'on money bags, you bought a 350Z, but you can't buy a 250 dollar sub?

Nobody got rich working for the government.;) Plus, I just don't have anywhere I could use another sub.

If curiousity gets the better of me it would be interesting to see how this thing would do against my DIY sub, whenever I get around to building it.

I vote for the BIC H100. I have two friends with them now. One replaced his JBL 12" sub with the BIC.

Someone on the Parts Express tech talk board recently discussed this sub. From the picture it apparantly uses these components:

DCS380-4 15" driver

SWC15 15" Subwoofer Cabinet
SA240 240W amplifier

It can produce about 105 dB as low as about 25 Hz. At $250 that is a great deal.

Anyone who can use a screw driver can assemble this kit.

I was kind of being facetious...

$200 speaker + $300 amp + $120 cabinet would buy a pretty nice sub already built elsewhere...

But still I wonder how it might compare?

It is a budget sub. It seems to be tailored to output not depth, seeing how it doesn't really go much below 25Hz.

That kind of money will buy you a LOT more in the DIY realm than it will in the already built one. You have to do some work though...
