I'm pretty sure my old coax cable has a kink in it. I'm sick of fidgeting with the thing. Are there any good places to buy cables from that you know of?

Try Bluejeanscable or Monoprice, they both sell cables cheap and are a decent quality.

Brahma Bull,
I posted some suggestions in this thread. The earlier suggestions are also great.

If you believe in the idea that pretty much all cables are the same (championed by The Audio Critic), then monoprice is the way to go.
Of course, Blue Jeans Cables are a lot sexier and more customized, but they are also more expensive.
I am using the monoprice digital coaxial cables for all my analog signals!
I also use the monoprice HDMI cables for my blu-ray & hd dvd.

Cables again!

Brahma Bull,
If you look on the site main page and go to Pro-reviews, at the end of the page you will find Cables and Switchers. Click there and go to Cable face-off. Those tests and others are some of the best-done I have seen, and will broaden your horizons.

Bottom line: Do not waste your money on anything expensive. I do not know your background, but as an EE with decades of experience I can truthfully tell you that unless you have quite crappy equipment, forget about soap-box utterences that would do many a politician proud, about the effect of resistance, capacitance and inductance in audio cables unless you aim to run a great many meters length. One does not suggest flea-wire or departmental store goodies, but anything of about RG58A or such quality will be fine. Some are more flexible - sometimes an advantage.

Stay with the preceding advice.

here's another pretty good site.

http://www.accessories4less.com/

one thing to look for is that sometimes you can buy "video" cables that do the same thing as "audio" cables for less money, and sometimes vice versa. For example, it might be cheaper to buy a 3 meter digital co-ax cable than a subwoofer cable from the same brand, even though they are basically the same thing. :)

Interesting how that other poster with such EE has a different opinion, even if he is off the deep end :D
