Here is what I have to work with as of now

Cerwin Vega E-710 or Yamaha NS-A60X

Or do I try and sell these and go with something else. If so, what would be a fair price for these CVs? They are basically new in box, they were taken out to test and that was it.

It all matters on what you like and what sounds good to you. If you are looking for a loud party speaker then the CV's are great. If you are looking for a speaker that properly reproduces music, then I would start all over.

The vegas are loud frat speakers. They will crank. In an HT, I am not so sure. You could run them with a phantom center if you want. I would recommend selling them if you want a clean sounding system. You can get a decent system for a fairly small amount of money. My polks were very inexpensive and I really do love the sound. They do require a sub however.

You could go with the Athena AS-F2.2 as mains (300 bucks or less) and then add their small bookshelf or Di-pole for another 100-150 bucks. You will then need to save up for a good sub as you cant skimp in this area and then get the Athena center. This would make a really good HT system and sound a lot better than the CV for music.
