Sub placement question

I just did the crawl test for sub placement with my SPL and found that the best feasible location for my sub is slightly staggered in front of my FR tower speaker. The FR speaker sits at a 30ish degree angle facing my couch currently and the woofer site mostly in front of it at a 45 degree angle. Since I am in the process of re-running all the wires for my system and rearranging much of it I have not been able to do listening tests but was wondering before I lay all the cables if this situation would cause sound problems between the speaker and woofer. I am thinking it won't but wanted to check with some more experienced people before I had everything set up and ready. I would just fire everything up but I won't be able to until my stands arrive Monday and everything is hooked up again.

Thanks guys.

Hook it up, leave open the possibility of screwing with your system after it's set up. This way you can find out for yourself what works best. Your room is not an anechoic chamber, therefore none of us can really say what will happen.

Yeah, but some people might have a better idea. If in general that placement is bad it will most likely not work in my case if it doesn't matter then I will find out how it sounds Monday. My real problem is that I don't have too many options for speaker placement and I was hoping this would be good but I wanted some expertise.

Edit: I am mainly concerned with distortion between the FR and Sub.

There won't be any problem.

However, it would help to know what sound youre after, and what sub it is? You never know who might have experience with that sub.

Room size and overall setup helps too.

It won't cause any kind of problem that would be of major concern like blowing up the front speaker or increasing global warming or anything like that. ;)

The crawl test is very effective for determining the best location for the sub but then the real world steps in to bash your hopes and dreams (ok, well it's not that bad...)

If you can feasibly place the sub in the location that is likely best then do it; if not, find the next best place. We all have to work against multiple factors like room shape, size, aesthetic concerns, etc. There are other ways to work around small issues if the placement is not 'ideal'.

while the sub crawl test is better than nothing ... get that REW up and running asap. with the sub crawl test, it's possible you are favoring a location that has lots of peaks.

I have an external sound card on the way so I can run the program. I am thinking about getting a feedback destroyer to deal with my rooms peaks as there are many.
