That was exactly what I was thinking. A rather unfair comparison if the run lengths actually merit the gauge difference, but in reality its probably a mental thing and if its up there then hey it is better for him. I just need to design the vitamin tweak that makes your ears more sensitive .

Elvis, it is called the placebo effect. It affects everyone (including you and me and Stereophile magazine reviewers) and is very powerful. Some people have actually cured themselves from sugar pills taken during medical drug tests. Faith is strong.

You need to do blind listening tests in order to avoid placebo effect. By blind, I mean you listen back and forth between various products without knowing which product is in use at any given time. If you can hear a cable, then I can assure you it is incompetently designed or made. I was a faithful audiophile for years before recovering. Been there, done that.
