Looking to buy 2 towers, 1 center, 3 surrounds (6.1)

This system is going in a dedicated HT rectangular room with cloth covered walls, carpeted flooring, perforated sound absorbing tiles in the ceiling to minimize echo/absorb sound. The screen lies on the width side(i.e smaller wall in the rectangular room and directly opposite on the other side smaller wall is where we have our sitting arrangement).

Size: approx 2200 Cuft

Pre- Amp: Emotiva LMC-2 Hopefully!

Amp: Emotiva LPA-1 225w@4ohms

Sub:SVS PB12-NSD/2

Usage: 50% music 50% movies (as most indian movies have songs ).

One thing to note i would like to stay away from very revealing speakers as they are not forgiving of poor recordings.

There is no means of auditioning any of the above mentioned loudspeaker systems as my house is in india and whatever i buy is all going to be shipped directly.

Though other brands i have listened to in order of preference to give you all an idea the kind of sound i like:-
1.Monitor Audio Silver
2.Some B&W Inwalls
3.Infinity Reference Series(My Old Rig loved the sound)
4.Infinity Beta Series
5.Wharfedale
6.Klipsh synergy
7.Polk Rti and Lsi Lines

thanks as always

MA Silvers

I have Monitor Audio Silvers with an SVS sub and it sounds good. I demo'd a lot of speakers in that price range and liked the Silvers the best. Sounds like a fun project, have fun! Check the photos in my signature.

I haven't heard the RBHs, so can't comment on them, but based on what you said, the Rockets seem like a good choice. The only thing that bugs me is that you say you want to stay away from revealing speakers, yet all of those mentioned would tend to fall into that category. The Bigfoot is one of the best centers I've heard, but it is definitely BIG.

Its just that many indian movies are not the best recordings and thats going to be the main purpose of this sytem for my dad!

So technically less reveling the better maybe !

Boy, you keep catching me with this Windsor thing. If you are physically in Windsor, you can hear the Paradigm line at Live Wire, the Monitor Audio line (among many others) at Audio Two, DefTech (and others) at Stereoland or Klipsch at D&R Vacuum.

If you are actually in India right now and are relying on internet direct brands for shipping purposes, I have no experience with any of them.

Maybe instead of going rockets you can get him an X series system from AV123.

The rockets are very revealing, I own 760s and bigfoot and if something is going on in the center channel you are hearing it.

The Xseries is still revealing but not as much and as little as is possible while still having quality speakers (make sense?)

With the current exchange rate, it certainly makes sense to purchase in the U.S., since Canadian prices have not adjusted to reflect the exchange rate. I have nothing against the internet direct brands, but it might make more sense to avail yourself of the opportunity to listen to the variety of models that are here locally and choose one that you like the sound of, even if you decide to order it from the States and have it shipped direct to India. At least then you know that you will like what you have purchased as opposed to taking your chances online with a brand you haven't heard.

While it may seem unfair to audition speakers locally with no intention of buying from the retailer, I assure you that I have purchased a little something from each of the local retailers in question and I will continue to buy from them even if I recommend that you don't (right now, at least until the exchange rates even out and Canadian shopping becomes more affordable).
But I still recommend buying something that you've been able to listen to yourself.

New system

Sounds like you have a great list of options. I have been impressed with the build quality and performance of my Onix Ref 1's from AV123 and recommend the Rocket line for HT. Since you are in Canada, Axiom might be easier to demo and more cost effective.

I also have the Emotiva LPA-1 amp and an SVS sub and recommend their products. The emotiva UL combo is on sale for just over $800 shipped (to US) for the next couple days and owers of the pre-pro will get 40% off when the new model comes out next year.
