Last night when i was watching the Simpsons i noticed something wierd..

Looks like there is a vertical strip of broken ness on my LCD tv. sometimes on certain colors, i get things that look like this. only happens on that one vertical strip of area though...

Here are the pics.

They appear to look like dead pixels but they cant be because it is an on and off thing, it only happens on certain colors and patterns. I have an extended warranty plan (got the warranty for free) on the TV so getting it fixed it should hopefully not be a problem. As soon as exams are done (tomorrow) i have to go back to the store and ask them what i need to do for them to fix it.

:(

Do you ever poke the screen with anything, or are there others in your house that might be touching it? Poking is bad for LCDs, as I am sure you know, make sure any small children stay away from the pretty moving picture.:D

The only close thing to poking it that I can think of might be my mom dusting it every single morning but she does it with a soft cloth and i dont think she applies much pressure.

Other than that, no pets, no small children and I think the last time I myself actually touched the screen was like when i bought it.

Maybe you should be the one to dust it regardless if you think she puts much pressure on it, just so you know it is being done correctly.:)

Yeah i know i should be but i have almost no say in how this house gets cleaned. Every morning, i am either woken up by the vacuum or my mother dusting my room. she never leaves it alone and if I lock her out of my room, she makes accusations on how i am hiding crack in there or somthing.

Waay overprotective and too much of a neat freak.
this house gets vacuumed and mopped at LEAST once a day.

I know you were being informative but when I read that statement I just couldn't stop laughing I don't know why. I just imagine a big finger poking at his TV and it just keeps making me laugh :D

John. I am a bachelor and dusting is pretty far down my list of things to do.
But I do dust the rig and tv pretty reguarly. I have found a feather duster is the **** for the dust. It hangs right next to my eqpt. rack and does a great job of attacking the dust. Have your mom use one on the TV screen!

I think she has a few of those too. as soon as it gets fixed, i will tell her to use only that on the tv.

Swiffer Duster is the bomb for dusting and sprucing up in general.

That house must be immaculate. Mine gets dirty just sitting there. I'm going to rip out all of the carpet soon and replace it with tile. You can neglect tile for months and then as soon as you mop it it is back to brand new. None of that mopping every day crap. :)

Maybe I'm on crack, but in that green picture it looks like someone screaming to get out or at your mother to stop dusting!

hahahaa

probably is.

Dude, you dont know how bad this is until you have actually experienced it. she is the most in the way person i have ever seen in my whole life. she is so invasive its not even funny and everything has to be cleaned her way. and thats
why she wont listen to me when i tell her to leave my stuff alone.

Take our conversation at dinner for instance.

Me: "yeah so, i think i found out why my tv is broken"
Mom: "oh really, well thats good, what is it, can you fix it"
Me: "i am thinking that it has to do with you dusting it every morning and no i cant fix it unless you want to give me another 1500 dollars so i can buy a new one"
Mom: "NOOO its NOT my fault, i barely even touch it at all. i wipe it so lightly and i dont put any pressure on it blah blah blah"
Me"well you still dont have to dust it every day"
Mom: "well what am i supposed to do, just leave it until 5 inches of dust have fallen on it and you cant even see the picture, jeez, you cant just expect me not to clean it"
Me: "yes i can..."
Mom: "no you cant! i cant live in a dirty environment"
Me: "fine then, dont live in my room"
Dad: "he has a point..."
Mom: "YOU stay out of this!!! blah blah blah"

anywhooo...

When you have your own place, whether it is an apt or a house, you no longer have the luxury of someone to constantly clean up and believe me that will be an eye-opener.

As I said before, my house seems to get dirty just sitting there. The only thing is that when the kitchen counter is filled with mail, magazines, and assorted junk or the sink is filled with dirty dishes that should have been placed n the dishwasher, I know who caused the problem because I am the only one who lives in the house.
