do you guys have a fixed budget? I'm thinking, such an impressive set of speakers require a more "high end" subwoofer
I'm thinking your GS speakers are piano black?
if so, I'd be looking at:
Velodyne DD18 or smaller (if a big % of your usage is music)
JL Audio F113 + Velodyne SMS-1
SVS PB12 Plus/2 + Velodyne SMS-1
and if you can wait
SVS PB13 Ultra + Velodyne SMS-1

We do have a budget, but there is wiggle room. In fact we are over budget in the speaker and projector department. But we felt that the sound quality from the Monitor Golds was worth it and the image from the JVC was also worth it. Since we are over with those two choices, I don't think that we can afford the JL audio or the Velodyne subs. I have heard from another forum member that the JL Audio is a great sub though.
Actually we are going to go with 'Cherry' as the finish in the towers, center, and surrounds. We feel that it will match the wood that is already in the basement real nice. We are not too worried about the sub being a match with the other speakers, and black with go with anything.
We are interested in getting a sub that will sound good with music, but will also provide that punch with HT. What would you say to the idea of us getting the SVS plus/2 sub now and perhaps adding the JL Audio in the future? (When the savings account recovers!
