I am looking at buying a complete 5.1 set of x-ls/x-cs/x-sub over time, starting with the sub and x-ls speakers (need to update my sig to reflect that...) I just hate the thought of not being satisfied with stuff I buy online, so I am always reluctant to do so, and generally buy my stuff locally. But local stores tend to overprice speakers as badly as they overprice cables, unlike e.g. TV's which they make very little profit on.
Like cables, audio equipment tends to fit in that "upsell attachment" category at most stores, so they set the profit margins very high on them.
I want good stuff, but at the same time I probably make less in a year than some of you make in a month

That said I have to go for the good bang for your buck items.
BTW are you the same mikec from nvnews?
