Last year we put an addition on our house and we agreed I would be able to use the basement for a theater and it would house all the equipment for a whole house audio system. Well I am by no means done but I at least have everything up and running. I still have to install the drop ceiling, paint, lighting/electrical, acoustic treatments and seating.
The total room size is 14.5ft x 18.5ft but after I close the stairwell and create a small closet it will be 11.5 x 18.5.
This first image is of the front of the room from just behind the seating.
View of the back of the room. As you can see I will still have to deal with the washer/dryer and treadmill. I've been thinking of moving the back speaker up and creating a closet around the w&d.
Here is the front of the rack. I built this into the wall of the utility room. Used 3/4in plywood for the shelves. I wanted to make sure it would hold the MPS-1.
And the back. I tried to keep everything neat.
This is a shot of the speaker selector and intellipad I installed to run the whole house system. I am using the zone 2 of the Pioneer and 2 of the MPS-1 channels.
I'm open to any suggestions for room treatments and such. I am planning on upgrading my sub next and then finishing the rest of the room.
Thanks.
