just in case people will copy this step by step ... I would suggest using MALE RCA ends instead of those FEMALES, since most of the receivers have female RCA's anyway.

Well, they do look different from the RCA connectors here in the states:D
We have longer prongs;)
Just to clarify, the phono (RCA) connectors used in the guide for this interconnect are Neutrik Pro-fi connectors.

The reason the ground protudes is to make a ground connection before the signal, to avoid interference during connection/disconnection. The grounding piece is spring loaded and pushes back into the connector body on insertion :)

So basically, it's an advanced phono connector, still a standard length centre pin, but with an enhanced ground terminal.
