Finally Found It!
Folks,
Well I was finally able to get my hands on a copy of the DVD-A. It's pretty dang hard to find. Then when one does find it, it is really expensive. I already mentioned that I found it on Amazon.com in the UK, but after shipping it ended up being close to $40. I then found it a few times on e-bay but the guy selling it was selling it closer to $50, and I offered less than once, and he refused saying he had bought it for almost that much already and wanted more. So I declined. I then found it on some site called 5point1.com or something like that. I don't recall why I didn't order it from there, but I think it was more than I wanted to spend. I even went to the Brand Spankin New Fry's Electronics store here in town and they had it in their computers, but did not have it at any of their stores and could not order any new copies, I guess the supplier was no longer supplying it. Anyway, I figured I would just give up, and then one day I got an email from CDUniverse.com saying that they had finally gotten in some copies. I went to the website and it was backordered again.
So I called them up and they said that several people had ordered it, and only 3 had come in and so since they had already ordered it they got it first, so I ordered it from there thinking that maybe they may end up getting some more in over the next few months. Lo and Behold a day later, I got a note from CDUniverse saying that the disc had shipped! Sure enough, I got it on Saturday! I was really excited and listened to the whole thing during lunch. I had been out digging in my yard again putting in some new lawn. I sat there fixated and just enjoyed the whole thing, until my wife said, "Uh, aren't you going to finish up outside?" So I had to save the second half for later...
But it's a great sounding concert, and I really enjoyed his little comments, and even his monologue, talking about his cronies Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, and also Count Basie etc. Very well done. In fact, I may even go and buy the CD for my Grandparents now, I think they may really enjoy it.
