Onkyo really reinvented the 800 series with the 805. Hopefully it's priced under $1000 so all can afford.

Check out the differences between the 804 and 805. They're huge:

TX-SR805

250W dynamic power 4 ohms, 1 ch
Power consumption 9.5A

THX Ultra II
DD Plus, True HD, DTS-HD Master Audio
HDMI Deep Color 1.3

TX-SR804
105x7; 20-20,000; .08THD; 8 ohms
180W dynamic power 4 ohms, 1 ch
Power consumption 7.5A
29.5lbs

WTF?????

50 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek:

I don't think it will be less than $1000, not with THX Ultra and that weight. The 805 is supposed to be the new flagship model right, no flagship will be less than $2000.:(

Drool, I want that thing so bad now.

Were did you get that info, sounds to good to be true.:D

According to Onkyo's website, MSRP on that thing is $1,099 I believe. The price, along with being tired of waiting is why I went with the Yamaha 661. Does sound like an awesome receiver though.

The MSRP of the 804 was $999. for only $100 more, I'm pretty damn impressed.

Looks like a solid offering. Heck, if I had any spare cash I might be interested... Still waiting to see what Marantz puts out later this year though.

Wow, I was way off. The 905 is the flagship, the 805 is going to create some very good competition I think.:D As soon as I have the money I will probably get one.;)

I like the layout, the speaker terminals are at the bottom.

Hey, I been looking at the 875 myself as it has the next level video processing chip in it. The 905 even has HDRadio built in. The MSRP on the 875 is $1699 and the 905 is $2099. My plans are to get the 875-that is like you if I can afford it.  I am also waiting to see how Denon, Yamaha, Elite, and HK responds as you know they all will. Things are only looking up!!!!!

I wouldn't call it "pink". It looks more like Magenta to me. ;) Being in the printing business, I like the color Magenta.

green, red, black or polka dotted. who cares! it'll be covered with your rca cable in the back of your equipment rack anyways! :p

as it is... I saw the front panel of the new models myself at the retail store (i think)(or last year's model which is very similar) and there's nothing really exciting here. The blue light around the knob is pretty annoying to me while watching tv in the dark.

Very interesting specs for the money I must admit though:cool:

Well it's supposed to be purple, so close enough I guess.

Damnit, this is why I hate home audio. I just got my Denon and now this comes out and is the SH*T! Dang, can't afford another $500 upgrade.
