weird interference between sub and cell phone

My friend has a 12" Paradigm subwoofer, Denon receiver and every time he is about to receive a call on his Cingular LG phone, the sub "pops" a second in advance. He switched cables a couple of times, he's currently using a 15' Monster subwoofer cable. Has anybody seen this before? Any thoughts or ideas as to how to solve this? it's annoying. Thanks for your help.

Thats not interference, its a "feature"

No clue really...every couple of months my cordless phone will disconnect my wireless internet, then it will go away...only to come back a few months later...

Yes, this does happen. It will also happen with car radios and computer speakers. The cell phone switches it's power output to high when extra signal strength is needed, like receiving a call.

The only advice I can give is keep the cell phone away from the electronics.

My Nextel can also play havoc to any 2.4 GHz systems like cordless phones and wireless devices.

Only certain phones do this to certain audio equipment. It is just interference. The phone doesn't ring as soon as it receives the signal, it processes it and then rings. Phone processors aren't that fast.

I used to have an Athena sub that would do this. My neighbor's (apartment) Nokia would make my sub make funny beeping noises.

I have that Cingular LG phone, and when I put it on my nightstand, and it rings or updates to the network, my clock radio goes nuts... pisses me off, I wonder how much my brain is being fried with this phone...

Better yet... I used to live 50ft from the freeway, and my non-shielded speaker wire would pick up CB traffic, and I would hear the conversations of truck drivers on my speakers at db levels that would splatter your eyes out of your head...

needless to say, I got shielded speaker wire pretty dam quick...

No wonder I like land lines, still and not planning on a cell anytime soon, or anytime later

Funny story about that interference... One time I flew to another island for work and we fly over on little piper cheifton's, its pretty relaxed. No securty to go through. dont even need to show id half the time. Just show up, get on the plane and go. Anyway one time i put my cellphone in my toolbag which was in the upfront luggage compartment right infront of where the dashboard is and stuff, Well i didnt turn my phone off and about the entire time i could hear the noises coming through the speakers Good thing the pilot didnt ask who didnt turn off their phone since its some kind of federal offense or some BS.

Think not turning my cellphone off is bad, You ought to see the stuff in my toolbag. If i tried getting that thing through security they would have me in handcuffs.

i sometimes get click,s in the sterio when i change pages on the computer,i gather i need a new motherboard.already changed the power supply.

used to have horizontal snow on the t.v. befor i changed the power supply.

So I guess there's no cure for this then. I'll suggest some shielded cable as an "it might help". Thanks.

My Nextel makes my speakers make all kinds of noise, I think Nextel is the worst with causing interferece with other stuff.
