The meager Redman HT

I recently received a decent bonus and with much contemplation and compromise with my wife, I blew it all on what you see below.

It's nothing stunning, but it is my first system and it sounds beautiful. Enjoy, I know I am.

TV, equipment rack, Infinity P162 fronts and Infinity PC250 center

Closeup of the equipment rack. It is a DIY design using 3/4" MDF and rack rails from Hometech.com. I am just waiting to put the black ash vinyl on to give it the "finished" look.

The receiver is great. It does much more than I need at the moment and was a snap to setup. I especially love the upconversion to Component (and HDMI when I get a better TV) as well as the significant reduction in the rat's nest that was behind my TV before, it really simplifies everything.

I'll try to get some pics without the grills up tonight.

Nice equipment. I have always liked Infininity.

I would suggest moving the rack to the left corner and separating the left and right channel more. Some stands like you built for the rear surrounds would be ideal. Give those speakers room to breath and place them more on axis with the center channel.

Enjoy!

I'm going to have to do something different anyways for the fronts. I won a 42" Philips HD LCD in a raffle a few weeks ago and the stand is too narrow for the tv and both fronts. Right now the left front is sitting on top of the rack and the right front is on the stand. Not to mention I no longer have a stable enough setup for the center channel, which is currently on the floor.

I'm thinking I can construct a slightly narrower stand with CD/DVD storage below behind doors of some kind. The center channel would rest on top of the stand with a raised shelf for the TV. Then the rack can be moved to the left corner (I hope there is enough slack in the cables) and the fronts can be placed on stands (I'm thinking these stands would be storebought since they'll be up front and visible).

the fronts are waay to close together. if you were to get some stands and move them forward and apart a bit, im sure you will like the sound of it better.
