Didn't think anyone visits here too often :D Something is fixed on the other topics, not this section.

Boy, I just noticed a new avatar picture of that marvelous sled, from space, WOW. How about a larger one.

WOW, how wonderful.:D

But, back to the original issue, I noticed that while the dates are updating, they don't reflect the true last post in that category, time-wise. One under wire about Blue Jeans cables, has a recent date, yet when you look, last post was on the 11th. Something is out of sync, a flameout;)

To be honest with you, I don't see the problem on my end. But then again I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box

I'll keep an eye out for weirdness. I get that kind of date problem with Sound & Vision Forum. When I refresh the screen it updates.

It doesn't appear to be a refresh issue as in getting in the first time each day, the threads are old ones but the days are new. Yet, checking the thread it has an old 'last post date.'

I just logged out totally, closed browser, opened, logged back in and it worked as it should. Kind of a pain. Maybe I will try refresh as well. Thanks.

I am pretty sure they have been out of service now for several years.

I think I remember the same thing and that it's last flight was to set the record for the fastest time from east coast to west coast USA or visa versa. I could be wrong on the last part.

My thinking is, officially they have all be taken out of service. Absolutely, not question, without a doubt. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Yes, they were officially taken out of service by the Air Force with the last flight in 1990 which it set the world record for speed (still stands). Pretty amazing accomplishment for an aircraft that was delivered to the Air Force in 1966. Most of the aircraft were retired and sent to museums.

Four SR-71's (three SR-71A's and the "one and only" SR-71B two seater shown in back of the group picture above) were transferred to NASA for high speed & high altitude flight testing. The last NASA flight of an SR-71 and the last flight EVER was on October 9, 1999 at an Edwards AFB air show. They have since been removed from service and have been transferred to museums.

There is nothing (at least officially) that has replaced this aircraft and no plans to do so in the future. It was an end of a truly amazing era.
