Is this a ground loop problem?

I have a Sim2 projector that is plugged into an outlet that is not on the same circuit as the rest of my equipment (AV receiver, dvd player). When the projector was installed, the installers added a specific breaker just for the projector. Lately, I've noticed these scrolling lines (about 3 or 4 on the screen at the same time) when I use the projector. If I turn the projector off and unplug it, the lines are gone when I re-start the projector. If these were ground loops, wouldn't they be there all the time? Any suggestions? This is driving me nuts! Thanks

Do you by chance have cable/satellite TV cable going to the projector? If so, that is most likely the source. Unplug it totally and see if it goes away. If yes,

I've tried that. I've unplugged both the satellite and cable connectors and problem stays. If that were the problem, I can't see why unplugging and re-plugging the projector would solve the problem. Thanks anyway.

Unplugging the cable to the TV or any audio component that is in the system would show that the ground loop is eliminated and that would have verified that the cable TV connection is the cause of your troubles.

Since your rolling problem is still there, you need to do more experimenting where the leakage is coming from, which component. Is there any rolling issues with only the projector on and nothing plugged into it, no video feed of any kind, or any trigger wire to other components, etc?

It will be a process of trial and elimination which component is causing this problem. If it is there with nothing connected, then you may need to call the projector company.
