Haha, you guys may well be right about the cable being too expensive, the only site I found had prices in Honk Kong dollars and came to about $250 US a pair...which judging from what is out there is far from the most expensive. But I have decided on a more frugal approach and I am going with
this Canare cable, should cost me about $30 including shipping.
As for bi-amping with the passive crossovers still in the speakers; yes, I am leaving them in. My speaker and technical knowledge aren't quite at the level where I would feel comfortable taking apart my speakers (my first "serious" ones). I will be using the bi-amp mode in my yet to be purchased Yamaha receiver to get four channels of power to my fronts when listening to music, just to increase the power headroom...and to see if there is any benefit to bi-amping in this manner.
