I have been looking around for surge protectors with cable protection. I have found some people have issue with missing channels, non functional digital channels, etc. I assume this is due to signal loss/bandwidth limitations.

Have there been any that have shown to not affect TV performance.

I have been looking at belkin, tripp lite, apc and havn't found a definite answer.

Thanks for any help.

All three you mention are quality names. You should not have any problems with any units from any of those manufacturers.

I cannot recommend APC surge protectors. Their power conditioners and battery backups are top notch but their surge protectors (power strips) are not impressive. I have had two shoot sparks from the power switch and I have yet to be successful in getting a usable Comcast digital cable signal when running the cable through the surge protector.

Panamax would be my recommendation. I have had nothing but good experiences with their surge protectors.

Thanks for the replies.

Was this only with your APC or did the panamax have the same issues with cable?

Just a follow up, I ordered this one.

They note this in its key features:

Two sets of coax jacks protect cable modems, plus satellite, cable TV and broadcast antennas (pair of type N coax jacks, includes 6-ft. coax cable. One set provides digital broadband quality and can handle 2.2GHz bandwidths
I am assuming most of the ones today have more limiting bandwidth specs.

Hopefully this one will work. I didn't want to spend a fortune on this, but still have some protection.

I install systems on a daily basis and my company had switched from Panamax to APC surge protectors. We are now switching back to Panamax for the above reasons.
