Does anyone have any suggestions for adding dual subs to a home theatre? Currently i have:
SONY STR-DG-800 Amp 100watts*7
5 Sony 100 Watt Sattelite spks
1 300 watt 10" Klipsch Sub
Could i split the sub out into two channels and run the other channel to another Klipsch sub? Would that be too much of a drain on the system?

If your subs are powered, it won't be a drain on your system at all. I currently have 2 subs in my system. All you have to do is connect a splitter to your receiver's LFE out and run one cable to each of the 2 subs.

Cool thanks a lot man..are you familiar with running another sub from the low output or high output on the Klipsch subs? Would the additional sub also need to a powered sub?

You can run the second sub either from the low level out from the sub OR the receiver. Yes, the second sub needs to be powered also.

How big is your room? Could be that your one sub isn't enough? One GOOD sub can have as much impact as two lesser ones and may cost you about the same in the long run. Just a thought.

Don't forget, there are times that a second sub could cancel each other out without the proper setups...

I am not familiar with dual subs, but many here are... Do look into what you might have to do to achieve optimum setup... Sometimes its very easy, some rooms are more difficult, have you used a sound level meter on your current speakers... If not, you should get one... They make all the difference in the world for a proper setup.

Rather than buy a 2nd sub, I suggest you sell your Klipsch and use that money towards an upgrade to a better sub. You'll be miles ahead with a single 'better' sub.

my 2 cents...

LOL.... that statement is very conflicting.

Obviously the sub isnt doing it's job as well as you hoped, or you wouldnt be here asking for more deep bass.

If you need more deep bass, you need a bigger, better, & more capable sub. Buying a 2nd small sub isnt going to get you any deeper.

+1 on that Buckeye... I came from a Klipsch 12 and went to my current SVS PB12-Plus/2.... I'll tell ya, you couldn't get 4 of those klipsch's to sound like what I got now... no contest... Get a better quality sub, which Klipsch IMO doesn't make... ID brand subs will blow away what you have for less then what your projecting to spend on a Klipsch.

My suggestion, is also dump your Klipsch and look into a SVS PB12-NSD/PB12-Plus or a HSU, Axiom, or AV123.
I am not very familiar with the other brands I suggested just the brand I own,
so I can list models for the others.

Like I have said in the past; I owned the Klipsch sub 12 for two days and it was cute. If you are looking for a true and impressive sub...it is not...
