Losing Audio w/Channel Change

I’ve run into a problem that’s left me scratching my head. Ever since my switch from Dish Network to Direct TV, at least once a day I lose audio when changing from an SD channel to an HD channel. That’s the only pattern I can find. It’s not a big deal but it is annoying to have to power down and restart the Pioneer. It’s not going into mute. The audio just goes away until I restart my Pioneer AVR-1014. All satellite audio is via digital inputs, the same inputs used by both HD and SD (it's the same sat receiver).

All audio from all sources is routed through and switched by the 1014 and everything else works just fine. But once or twice a day the switch from an SD channel to an HD channel kills the sound. Does anybody have any ideas? I can live with this annoyance if I have to. I’ve shot my A/V bolt for now and can’t replace the Pioneer until early next year.

Thanks in advance!

How did you get the sound back, by switching the SAT receiver off and on?

By power cycling my audio receiver.
Sorry to make you repeat, you did mention it but for some reason it didn't notice.

My HD cable tv does the same thing with my 3805. I can't remember for sure but I thought I was able to get the sound back by either cycle powering the AV receiver or the HD cable receiver (Explorer). Too bad, I just moved to a temporary location and won't be able to test things out until I moved to my permanent location next month. Let me know you if figure out what the root cause it.

Can you send the audio direct to the TV and see if that matters?
I guess you didn't have this issue with Dish Network? Have you called Direct TV in that case and ask why theirs has a problem when Dish didn't.
Tell them you are considering going back to DN if this issue is not resolved.:D
