Does yamaha make a receiver/amp that will output sound to both the presence speakers and the rear speakers at the same time?

I don't want to start any kind of flame war, I happen to like the presence speaker options. I was wondering if yamaha made a receiver that does both at the same time.

not at the moment. but if I had to guess, perhaps the new flagship or 2800 will have it.

I'm pretty sure my RX-v659 does. It will do 7.1 and has a powered B zone that can be used an presence instead of a seperate zone. Am I wrong?

I dont think so; you have to set one or the other as the priority and I dont belive you can use both.

I'll have to check the manual, but I do know that I can run speakers A and B at the same time.

I can run A & B at the same time, but I can't run Presence and Rear surrounds at the same time. I can't understand why Yamaha would not think to allow all of these to run at the same time. I would think that would be a no brainer.

Sure you can run a and b at the same time but that's not what we are talking about.

Oh by the way; dont run a and b at the same time...as you might just end up overloading your amp...

As a long time RX-Z9 owner I have never been able to find a surround setting on it that actually outputs to both the rear surround and front presense speakers at the same time (and I've looked for one). I can't say why this is, since (unlike my RX-V2700s) the receiver has 9 channels of amplification so it seems that it could do so. With the RX-V2700 there's only 7 channels of amplification and they are switched from front to rear, depending on surround sound DSP chosen and a priority setting in the setup menus.
