Good day guys. I have been convinced thru this forum about the svs subs. But selecting the best one is still a little tricky (at least for my budget).
Do i get the SB12-Plus at 425 watts or the bigger PB12-NSD at 325 watts? These 2 are in my spending range.
Oh i need to mention my room size of 12'*14'

E-mail Ron or Tom at SVS and ask their opinion. Give dimensions of your room and listening habits. They will not over sell you, but will give honest and helpful advise.

In that size room, even the PB10 would be more than sufficient.

I guess that all depends on how much he wants to hit below 20hz...
What kind of bass do you like for your movie experience..
I like diggin deep... into the teen's, but thats just me...

i am shying away from the pb10 because of its limited connections. I still have my 2 channel receiver and eq. just in case.
i just want to know if i am compromising anything like sound quality by spending more for a smaller unit.

SVS Subs

Wess,
I went with the SVS SB12-Plus to meet the size and WAF requirments of my family room HT. The rosenut wood veneer looks great and complments the rosewood veneer on my Onix Ref 1's. You also get lots of features on the amp like balanced inputs, single PEQ, room comp switch, etc. This sealed sub needs more power to produce the same output as a larger ported design. Email SVS for more specific advice based on your room dimensions and listening preference. I suspect that both subs would be great down to 20 Hz and the big ported box will give you more output <20 Hz.

Thanks JC. Not sure if going below 20Hz is that critical as I listen mostly to music (about 70%), even tho i want great room shaking bass when watching movies. I am still fairly new to this stuff so any advice is deeply appreciated. I realise the pb12 is quite large but i also hear to get as much sub as i can afford.(Think i may be able to deal with the waf)

Av123 Mfw 15

If size is not as much of a concern, AV123 is nearing completion of the MFW-15, a 15" ported sub. They will be selling 1 for $600 or a pair for $1k. Check it out.

If you are going to swing that larger enclosure and were looking at going with SVS, they have a clearance/overstock sale on the http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-plus1.cfm in Glossy Piano black for the same price as the textured black.. $200 off.

Just another idea for you...
