It all depends on the money you wish to to invest. I have polkaudio and have had good luck with them. sounds great.
I suggest that you research what is availible in the audio shops around you and then spend the time to look up info on line about the speakers. Speakers can make or break a system.

Triad Bronze or Silver would my choice depending on budget.Their InWall/InCeiling versions are as good as their InRoom versions.

Klipsch is good InRoom but the Inwall stuff is not so good.

TruAudio if you want good sound on a tight budget.

do you have a budget....?
Room Size..?
My room is 18 x 14. And my budget is about $2000. I'm needing a 7.1 system to go with that receiver!!!! I also have a DirecTV HD Receiver that I'm currently running to my TV with an HDMI cable and also running my PS3 into my TV with an HDMI cable.

PLMK what you guys think with this information provided

JMO Unless you really need that receiver with every feature it has I would go with something less expensive (like the Denon AVR-2807) and increase your speaker budget to $3000.

Did you just purchase it? Can you return it? Do you want to?

$2000 receiver + $2000 speakers = Overkill

He can buy that receiver on Crutchfield for $1100.

Crazy, have you budgeted into your system a subwoofer, Is that important to you? What type of sound system have you used or been used to in the past, what brand speakers do you see yourself getting...?

I'm running the same receiver at the moment, although I may be switching it out for the Pioneer VSX-84TXSi. My speakers are Definitive Technology, a 5.1 setup. The front are 48" towers - Mythos One, the center is Mythos three, the surrounds are Mythos Gems and my sub is Supercube 2.

I'm quite happy with the sound this setup produces. The soundstage is awesome, full and clean, the mids and highs are clear but not too bright. It has a great warm sound to it. When I turn it up a bit you can really feel the punch, but it never makes me fatigued. It's about as clean and precise as any system I have ever heard.

About a month ago, before I bought this setup, I also auditioned the Monitor Audio Silver 6 series. It was a real tough choice for me, but I found the DT Mythos were just a little bit better suited for my ear buds. Others I listened to included Polks, Klipsch and Energy. I would have also like to audition some Mirage speakers, but couldn't find any locally.

The price of the Mythos is a little over your budget of $2000. I would recommend you increase your budget somewhat to about $3000, that will give you plenty of great sounding speakers to consider.

Where's that price?

I think someone mis-read the model or price, according to that link. The 2307 is $1100...the 4306 is still $2G. That 2307 is still a very nice receiver.

Lets say I do increase my balance a little bit since I have yet to buy a receiver. Which receiver and speakers should I go with for a budget of $5000. I'm new to the game and I don't have any preference just wanting to hear my DirecTV HD Receiver, and my PS3 Games and Blu-Rays in surround sound. I do however like the fact of the iPod docking station for my nano.

You really have to go audition for yourself. Bring your own DVD's and CD's to demo. Take your time and have fun with this. It is worth it in the long run.
That's the best advise that anyone can really give you. In the end, you have to be satisfied with it, and only you can decide which systems sound best for your taste and hard earned cash.

Enjoy the jouney.
