Check the responder's post count.

Odds are that if they have more than a few posts under their belt, they are responding with their honest opinion and not trying to sell something.

Known or suspected spam is quickly deleted.

You can trust the majority of the information. The only thing to be wary of is the brand pimping done by some people. Take all opinions with a grain of salt and you will be fine. One thing you won't find here is the all-too-present expensive cable pushing. Compared to most sites, this one is low-BS.

YOU NEED BASS TRAPS BASS TRAPS BASS TRAPS. :D

Hey GRIENlord,
Welcome to the forum. I think you are really going to like the guys around here. As the other guy said, watch if someone has a low post count and if they are just pimping what they sell. The great tip off is if they post pictures of there gear and or graphs all the time and always refer to there product. ;)

Grien,

I would concur with the posts above. However, I would point out that your posing this sort of question introduces the possibility of some version of the Liar's Paradox. For example, consider the implication posed above that persons with low post counts could be lying. (That may not be what's being specifically implied, but I like to think about this stuff. :) ) Glenn has a low post count relative to jaxvon and markw. So, is Glenn lying? If so, he has implied persons with low post counts might be lying. So, Glenn is not lying?

:D :D :D

I love paradoxeses...

(Of course, since I agree with Glenn, and I have a relatively low post count, Glenn is lying again... :D )

Spammers are usually detected, deleted and banned within a post count that I've never seen exceed one digit.

So now that we got over our trust issues, is there a question after the first question that we may help you with....

There are alot of good guys here, and really try to help people, and they are also really good at detecting unscrupulous behavior and letting the Original Poster be aware of it.

I first came here for guidance with buying a new system, as well as another forum, I read alot, and then started checking out some of the info I got here, and I was much better off being informed before the big purchases.

Welcome and good luck...
