Take all the screws out and throw it at a hard concrete wall as hard as you can.:D

I would try, once the screws are removed, to try and pull the woofer out by the screw wholes of the woofer basket.:)

Hello,

I have a pair of older JBL Control 1's: http://www.son-video.com/Rayons/Hifi/Enceintes/JBL/C1.jpg

The surrounds rotted out. I can't get the speakers out to repair them.

I don't have a clue.

What should I do?
Why would the surrounds be rotted? Aren't the Control-1 a fairly new model?

You should be able to pop the grill, and remove the woofer for replacement. Either that, or the cabinet comes apart, and you can remove it from behind the faceplate. Depending on how much they cost, it might not even be worth the hassle to have them repaired.

This is a pair of older Control 1's. The ones with the transparent tweeters, and black shiny woofers.

Thank you. :)

I fixed one woofer already.

I'll do the other once I figure out how to unglue the other woofer from the enclosure.
