Somebody asked me to post pictures after describing my basement getting flooded. These are pictures of my dedicated home theater in our basement (post professional cleanup of the flooding). I did all the work myself with the exception of the plumbing (for the wet bar that will be on the backside of the backwall) and the HVAC.

The room is 15'6" by 23', with about 7'6" of ceiling (not ideal).

Equipement is:
Epson 550 front projector
DA-lite 106" 16:9 screen
Def Tech PB 2002, CRL 2002, and BPX
Denon 3805
Pioneer DVD
Panamax power protection all around

The chairs are la-z-boy mattinee theater chairs (all 8 recline)

The stage is filled with sand and the riser with insulation.

Red, white and blue!!:D Looks like a room that you can have fun in.

You going to get sub?

seperate sub is forthcoming - I am currently getting by with the 2 powered subs in the main towers.

The color choice was for light control. When the Lutron dims the lights the colors actually fade away (they are dark and it is a flat matte paint)

Thanks for all comments!

Clint,
Thanks - I could not have done it without Audioholics. Everyone here has been great on providing advice and experience. The year of research prior to starting construction helped answer a lot of questions, but Audioholics was there for all the other answers :D :p

I would say mostly. As always, there is more futzing that can be done. I think I need to break down and buy the Rives Audio CD. The freq sweeps on the DVE and AVIA don't seem to do it for me.

The latest is ISF calibration of the projector the day before the superbowl. Watched the Superbowl with 25 other people in OTA HD through the HDMI jack and it looked GREAT. Lost in HD every week is nice as well.

Your room is one of two rooms I dream of having in a house I own someday...

...the other being a really nice pub/billiard room.

I may have to make a choice of only 1 of the two coming to fruition...which to choose, which to choose?

Anyway, love the room. Top notch! :D

I'm Jealous!

Beautiful room!!!!!!

Man, I wish my room was that big.
I'd be able to fit that full size Terminator statue I always wanted

Note to self: Next house skip the extra bedrooms.

Thanks everyone. It was definately a labor of love. For the previous 10 years prior to moving into this house, my home theaters were in the living room. As we decided to buy a house (actually build) we really focused our search around houses that could handle a dedicated HT in the basement. Once we found this model, we were sold and put a contract down. Now a nice thing about building a house (even a production like ours) is it allows you some flexibility. Like we got a higher ceiling in the basement (not as high as I would like, but...). It also affords you time to do research on how to actually build a dedicated HT. There was never really any thought to contracting it out, b/c I knew they would never do it quite the way I wanted it done (at least w/o costing me an arm and a leg). Plus it was much easier to make changes along the way as I gained more knowledge.

We love going down there to watch movies and the HD feed from the OTA antenna and the sat dish.

Well you've done a wonderful job and should be proud. The only problem I see is. Your seats have drink holders, but I don't see the bar.  :D

It not finished yet, but on the back side of the back wall there will be a wet bar. I finished the HT first (gotta have your priorities straight!), but the rest of the basement will have a small rec room, bedroom, full bath, and of course the mechanical closet.

Thanks - after I finish the rest of the basement we might get a tabletop popcorn maker like the ones that look like miniature popcorn carts.
