Loud Popping Sound From SUB?

If I accidentally bump the the coax cord going into my SUB, a supper loud popping sound occurs.

Do I have a faulty wire or should I be more careful when I'm messing around behind the SUB and turn off the power. It doesn't seem like it has harmed the unit, but it sure the hell gives me a fright.

It shouldn't pop when you nudge the wire. You may have a wire of connection problem. Easy to check with another cable, or should be easy:D
Then the nudging of connectors at either end, receiver and sub amp. But from the sound of it, I think your nudging as at the sub amp end?

Yes I was moving the Sub when I bumped the coax cable that is connected to it. That's when it made the super loud boom sound. I then unplugged the power cable to move it some more. It doesn't seen like it has harmed the unit, but I don't want to do that to many more times.

Well, the move and ensuing contact with the cable could have done something with either the RCA connector at that end of the cable or the RCA plug on the sub so that there is a momentary open of the connection. Don't move it anymore and don't play with the cable and you may be ok.
