Seriously, I have no life.
Since we continue to have posts on this product and as new posters come and go, we'll have it over and over.
Just a refresher what has been published in Forbes about them: :D

Now you have an idea where some of the profits go. I can just imagine their execs salary and benefits:D I have good imaginations at times;)

My speaker wire dates to about 1983. It gives me that vintage sound.

I'd take a good look to see that it is still OK. If you live in a wet climate, wire can corrode inside the insulation. If the insulation is transparent, you can see the corrosion. I had some that went bad that way and when I replaced it I was pleased to hear that there was an improvement. It may only be that the ends of the wire were not getting good contact, but whatever, it was a good cheap improvement.

Just be careful that you don't use up all the electrons in there:D
How is that 'Vintage' sound, by the way? ;)

This is a must read, the bigwigs should make it a sticky. Way to go Mtry finding and posting the truth.

I have 12 g home depot wire running up the outside wall and through the attic. Needless to say, I get a nice warm sound from it. :D

So what's your point here (although i think i know the answer)? Should i NOT buy monster products because they offer incentives to their salespeople and have a huge markup and noel lee makes a lot of money? Or should i buy monster products but NEVER pay retail?

The point is: let the buyer beware, how you spend your money it's up to you. Mtry simply peeled back the veneer so you can see where your money goes.

Well, you have a choice in the marketplace. Price matters to some people. Once you know what the real story is behind wire in audio applications, you can choose better. With this bit of info, you are better able to choose.
Will Monster prices less than retail be worth it? Depends on the competition's prices, if $ is an issue.

If you absolutely have to have monster cables - at least have the sense to not pay retail... it's good ole monoprice.com cables for me :)

Soon they will describe the sound of interconnects and cables by using a month and location to give you a sense of what it would sound like.;)

"These new Kimber interconnects are as neutral as August in Nebraska, they really have an open sound.":D

Oh boy - now we know

But what the point is? Good point.

To me it is just one more bit of proof of what unethical measures people will take to sell products. Unethical? Yes, because the incentive does not lie in promoting the real performance of the cable above others because that does not exist (no offence intended, also not my ears but technical and blind tests). And one certainly does not single Monster out in this respect. There is no crime in making profit and incentives - but this!!

As was originally said, this subject will continue coming up and every time the outcome is the same. By that I do not mean that it should not recur; I agree with Stratman that this should become a sticky.

I have quite a bit of Monster right now, and to be honest at least half of it isn't being used. I have a $60 6' component cable that sits behind the TV and has been replaced with a $20 6' HDMI cable from cables for less, the image is better too. My stereo set up has AR wires and sounds incredible, I'm glad I had a friend show me the light. I hope this will hope me "show the light" to a few more people.
