25K HT package

The HT package is quite skewed towards the audio site. For 25k, I would choose a 1080p PJ, an ISF calibration ($200-$300) and a video scaler.

No Brainer

I know the 25k system is all encompassing but personally I would sit in a bean bag so as to free up more cash for a 1080p projector. Other wise don't worry about any equipment that handles the 1080p signal, it's kind of pointless. Other than that it is a pretty solid set-up!

Just ordered one for a customer of mine. Only downside with it (and the model above) is the light output. It's really important to have a dedicated room or light control for this thing to do it's job right.

The light output is exceptional at this price point. JVC tend to publish specs close to its real value.

I was curious why SVS wasn't listed on the subwoofer choices. I guess SVS and Audioholics have hit some rough weather between them.

Then again, the JL sub might be a better choice anyway...

My "25k Dream System" would be basically what I already have, with the addition of the new JVC D-ILA PJ, a new 84" Carada Criterion in BW & a few GIK and RealTraps panels. If it would squeak in under budget I'd upgrade to a Meridian G68 and a 2CH amp to run the rears (my current amp is a 3CH Butler).

Now, if someone was giving me a "gear certificate" for $25,000 with the stipulation that I couldn't get any cash back, then I'd keep my current rig and add a 3 chip DLP.

How does JVC list their light output? ANSI lumens only or that and 6500K too?

Historically, their D-ILA projectors are 700 – 900 lumens. Nothing has come my way as of yet stating that this new run of models is any different. http://pro.jvc.com/prof/attributes/specs.jsp?model_id=MDL101681&feature_id=03&itempath=null is a fabulous projector priced at $6300, but has 700 lumens. I have a hard time trusting projectors with that type of light output if it’s not being used in a controlled environment.
