best wire config from my speakers?

Yes, I understand that now. But how can the amplifier "see" two different leads connected to the same terminal. I am sorry if you already addressed this on the other thread, but to much of that thread went over my head to such a point were I would not gain much from reading it at the time, and still to this time.:)

Audio perfectionists like the ones in that video on Youtube about the greek audiophiles would venture to say that bi-wiring would make all the difference in the world, and it most certainly doesn't.(of course those audiophiles wouldn't bi-wire with their budgets, they would have an amplifier for every little driver.:D) Without reading the other thread I have heard that it is proven that it makes a difference, but wether it is audible or not is the real conundrum.

Not a problem. The amplifier will indeed see all the loads, all the wires that are connected to the output terminals. What it does, that's a different story. Each wireset will draw whatever current the load at the other end demands as a result of the amp.

Yah, the other thread does go deep at times, but hey..geeks will be geeks.. that is why I basically said biwiring is not significant for the vast majority of the population..the fact that there is a difference at all, most are not concerned with..

Cheers, John

As far...

...I can see, such a wiring scheme simply moves and extends the Xover jumpers that would normally be in close proximity of the speaker cabinet to a point outside the cabinet, adding some resitance and capacitance to the mix...and adding some more target area to any EMI/RFI that might impinge itself on the signal...

jimHJJ(...that last facet is more than enough reason to avoid doing so IMO...)

Yah, if there's an emi or capacitance issue, that'd be the wrong way to go.

Your cables look great, but can I ask why you would run 1 red & 1 white wire to each of the bananas instead of 2 red and 2 white to each? Would this not be confusing when connecting to the positive and negative terminals??
I actually thought the same thing when I was first making the cables, but here's why I did what I did. The main reason is that I paired together the conductors that were opposite from each other. This makes use of the star-quad configuration so that it's symmetric. While there is likely little benefit because of this, I like symmetry. Also, it's not that hard to tell them apart. While both pairs are red and white, the ones going to the negative terminal are actually translucent. You should be able to tell in the picture, but it's much easier to see in person. Even aside from this, there are red and black color bands on the banana plugs.

I should also add that the cables are only in an intermediate state right now. I got them initially to try and out see if they would work for what I wanted, which they do. Once I get the remaining cable and connectors for my center and surrounds, I will be covering them with Techflex and putting heatshrink around the twisted ends; red heatshrink on positive and black on negative. :D

Seriously, I have no life.

Post it when done. I like pictures as that is the only way I will see such nice cables. My boombox will never see it;)
