Seriously, I have no life.
I've always understood that MINIMIZING sound reflection (soundproofing etc.) impoved sound,
I don't think you would like an anechoic chamber:D That is pretty well soundproofed and no reflection.
Concert halls have strategic locations for panels but it is certainly not soundproofed.

What about cinema setups? i was under the impression that reflection ruins the direction of sound and it was important to minimize reflection for a more true-life sound, obviously it wouldn't matter with lower undirectional frequencies?

Ive always heard that SOME reflection is good. You just want to control what reflects from where. But to honest I know nothing about room accoustics.
