I'm not sure there are many (if any) fans of dnb here, but for anyone into any kinds of electronic music, I recommend checking out. Any fans?

No.

Couldn't resist.:)
This would be the time for me to at least find out what dnb is, so let's have it.:)

Thanks, I might have thought to look there on my own. Does Dieselboy get your highest reccomendation for dnb?

He gets my highest recommendation as an individual artist. Dieselboy releases some very futuristic and technical dnb and imo is probably one of the best DJ's in the genre. Just do some downloading for samples of tracks or look on myspace artists.

I also recommend Noisia and also Ed Rush & Optical and Pendulum. Let me know what you think?

How would you compare them to New Order, Front 242, Depeche Mode?

I'm pretty sure that by the time I find and listen to dnb this post will thread will be long gone. I took note of the names and when I do run into it I'll at least know it for what it is. Thanks.:)

New Order Front 242 & Depeche Mode are some of my favourite bands!

I listen mostly to electronic music. industrial is my forte, if industrial is bar 5 on the technical scale, consider dnb (especially dieselboy) a 10 or 11. Seriously spacey sci-fi **** It will crush you in a wall of amazing sounds.

I love dieselboy, although I would consider it more ear pleasure rather than music. This is stuff I listen to while doing homework, etc. I'm usually doing something while listening, I personally can't just sit and listen to it like a string quartet.

I can agree with the Pendulum choice. They actually originated in my home city of Perth in western australia, and have been getting heaps of airplay on JJJ. plus other radio stations.
Definitly a must have in anyones collection!!:D

Not sure of Front 242, but let me put it this way. If you are listening to Pendulum on your way home from work on a friday, you might not make it to work on monday. You will be exhausted from having such a ripping week end.

Some samples...

For people reading this thread and have no idea what this kind of music sounds like, check out the Drumb & Bass section of Beatport. Of course these are just streaming samples which are short and a fairly low bit rate.

There are a few D&B tracks I like. I find for me to really enjoy D&B it has to be LOUD, then I can really dig it for short periods. I notice I like the really hard stuff like Evol Intent, though I only know of a few drum and bass acts, you can't go wrong with Dieselboy.

Bad Company and Dom & Roland are also respectable artists in the same vein as Dieselboy.

Posts don't get 'long gone' if you set your options on the CP properly.. they by default expire after 7 days, which I think makes this board less active because people don't know what..

I'm a Dieselboy fan. He's from my hometown. I think I've got all of his releases too. My favorite is "The Human Resource" and "Assemble the Monster" combination.

Technical Itch, Concord Dawn and Evol Intent are well worth listening to.

The nice thing about dnb is it includes the hardest of the hardcore Jungle, and some lighter more umm... herbal tunes in atmospheric styles.
