Hi Ho

Hi Ho

I used to have a rats nest behind my system that was clearly visible. I have cleaned it up a great deal. HERE it is now. Only that run of cables on the left under the receiver is visible.

My PC was also really bad. See HERE

HERE it is now, and HERE is under the desk. That ugly wood panel wall is normally not visible. :)

I will add some sleeving to make it a bit prettier but it's a big step up from before. I also have some stray cables that were too short to bundle with the rest. I deal with cable dressing every day as part of my job. Messy cables has become one of my pet peves. I actually like routing and dressing cables. It's like a puzzle and the end results are satisfying. My home systems are nothing compared to what I deal with at work. I wish I had some pictures of those systems.

It takes practice to dress cables nicely but you can get it done if you work on it. Start by disconnecting everything. Label all connections, including power cords. Teflon tape works well. When bundling cables try and keep them out of site and try to bundle as many togeter as possible. Think of it like a tree trunk with branches.

I KNEW I couldn't be the only one guilty!! :D

So is there a way to fix our mess without breaking down walls, etc? I mean can we hide the cables from view using some kind of conduit tubing or something like that? What are our options? Zip-ties still let u see the cables :(

I just know that as soon as I tidy up the cables, I'm going to want to move everything :(

Something like this mounted on the back on an entertainment center or desk can help clean up the mess:
