Connecting sub to center channel

Love this website. I have been reading reviews and reading the forums for a while and find the discussion very valuable.

Are there any benefits to adding a sub to a center channel? I am interested in the the Paradigm Millenia 30 but am afraid the -3db point is too high (80Hz or so). My girlfriend loves this speaker because of the looks and I'm afraid its either this or the BeoLab 7-2 ($3500 and not terribly good).

Current system is:

Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1 sound card
Rotel RMB 1075
LsiC, Lsi15, LsiFx
Velodyne SC-15

Thanks for any suggestions.

p.s: The reason for center channel issue is that apparently the LsiC conflicts with the looks of a wall mounted Pioneer507CMX

I haven't heard the millenias yet, but I would imagine they won't exactly match up well with the LSis. I'd fight to keep the LSiC and maybe see if you can simply stand or rack mount it below.

Seriously, I have no life.

No. If you need a sub, place it where it does the most good, use the LFE out on a receiver and set center to small.

Gallo AVs

If a $3500 sound bar is not out of the budget you may want to check out the Gallo Reference AV series. Very modern looking, but so are the speakers you mentioned. Designed to be wall mounted, and I think look quite nice around a TV. I bought L,C,R a week or so ago, stand mounted (until I move in a couple months). I had listened to 6-7 on walls and in walls and these were far and away the best sounding speaker (and the most expensive, $1200 list each). Designed to be used with a sub (looks like yours is nice), but they are flat down closer to 60 or 50 if I am remembering right.

There may be a conflct for looks, but if you change it there will be a conflict in sound which is more important.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up getting the Sanus PFFB. It has the piano black finish that matches the speakers and my girlfriend is fine with it. For a compact sleek HTPC/ plasma monitor setup check it out (the plasma stand avoids holes in the wall and has just about enough room for an htpc and a fairly large amp). Will post pictures when I am done setting my new apartment up.

Cheers,
