Wow, didn't think a banana would transfer any signal. Now I will have to experiment for myself. No. I will not replace my cables, they don't expire so fast, not as messy.

Well the long unneeded answer to the question of whether a fresh or aging banana passes voltage more audibly pleasant....

I know people often talk about cables making bass muddy, but this is just taking it to unnecessary extremes.

... put Banana plugs on the ends of my existing cables...Didn't sound any different.
Wired the rear speakers with 14 ga speaker cable (because I ran out of 12 ga..; can't tell any difference; 'though I am getting ever more antique and my hearing is not as good as it once was..

Well, I tried this experiment with a banana. No sound at all.

Well, as I understand it the signal was line level, not speaker level, and the "probe" shoved into the banana/mud/etc. had a large surface area: a copper penny (and it was soldered on, not just "they touched"):

Also the moisture content, mineral content, sugar content?, and mushiness of the electrical conductor probably matters, I'd think.

I figure that banana experiments need well aged, though not dried, bananas.
