I thought I would thank Gene for his relentless battle against snake oil in the audio industry.
For a long time, I was down the rabbit hole of cables and accessories. Thankfully, the things Gene and others espoused, and his data driven approach made me question my (silly) audiophile beliefs.
I am now off of the cable and voodoo bandwagon!
Both my wallet and I are doing much better :)

I nearly got that fancy monster cable wire. But didn’t it was $130+ for 100 foot. Wonder if they still sell it. I did spend $60 on a monster cable hdmi 3 foot that still works 15 years later.

You wouldn’t think this is active enough of a site for spammer invasion but it’s here and no forum seems safe from it.:(o_O

Another thing that bugs me, is the claim that ethernet sounds better than Wifi for streaming music. Crazy audiophiles (I was one in the past, so not judging), with their 3000$ ethernet switches and 500$ ethernet cables, just drive me nuts.
I went Wifi and the sound quality was exactly the same!
I brought up this same subject on the Naim forums (of which I am a member, even though I no longer own Naim gear).
One poster actually said he gets better sound quality with ethernet. He claims Wifi "flattens the soundstage". I kid you not.
More audiophile BS!

LOL lots of crazy out there. Naim has their own issues to start with.

Some people have more money then brains, I’d rather be lucky like them then were I’m at now. They might be wasting a lot of money on stupid things. But in this area you’d think it was 1935 Great Depression how low jobs pay and how little are actually hiring full time. But yes bots are taking over the internet it seems and China super pcs are running at hyper
Speeds. Full centers of these bots , with people programming them and actively posting on forums or any site .

Many people don't realize that bits are just bits. Computer networking has been around for decades and they figured out a long time ago how to ensure 100% accuracy in transmitting data without any data loss. As long as a cable or hub or wireless access point is working properly, the data received at the other end will be the same.

That does not mean you can never have issues. Improperly terminated cables can lead to data corruption or lower of transmission rates, but typically the connected hardware will recognize that the cable is faulty and not work at all. Also, wi-fi degrades with distance and can be affected by electrical interference or the types of material in the building. That usually impacts video streams as they require more bandwidth. Audio streams do not require a lot of bandwidth so even a slow 100MB connection can still stream audio.

You can experience drop outs and jitter if the connection, both wired and wireless, is poor, but as long as the connection is good and working properly there is no difference in the sound quality in the digital domain.

Gene took a huge risk and started Audioholics. I applaud his success. To me he serves as a valuable liaison between customers and industry representing both with enthusiasm.

I also enjoy Audioholics as a “news” platform for introducing new products. And of course James Larson’s unbiased thorough reviews backed up by CEA 2034 measurements. And Gene’s unbiased thorough reviews of AVP/Rs and amps backed up by bench measurements.

Yeah and hope he can get rid of these many spamm bots/ borges bits !
Trinnov is way out of reach hopefully something affordable will eventually have better bass correction then what I’m using now that doesn’t cost 3k+ it seems that’s the minimum art cost . For some reason my onkyo lacks individual sub ht eq.
