Are Blu-ray & DVD Formats Dead?

Yep; the last time that I priced them they were unrealistic.

Given that I only have a 50/50 chance of living another 10 years according to the statisticians; I'm not going to worry about it....

Going to be an empty planet full of skyscrapers… All today’s advanced technology cannot save anyone everything is going the way of the dodo. Another vote to the movie formats and discs will only last as long as retailers sell them.

I saw an article a few weeks ago that CDs are somehow making a comeback too. Physical media not totally dead.

With the way streaming works, especially if you "purchase" digital media, something you want to watch could disappear if your provider loses a license agreement for that content.

Hopefully this will keep physical media around when people figure out they don't "own" anything.

Or it's just kids wanting the experience we had before streaming was a thing.

It actually happens to me on Amazon regularly. Music that I "own" either gets changed to a different version, because that is what their license now covers, or disappears for a while and comes back. That is usually for older music that is harder to find.
