Small TV Upgrade

Was going to upgrade the 77" Sony in the Family room and I was deciding to either wait until the new models come out or pull the trigger on the agressive pricing out there

1) 85" Sony Bravia 9 3k is a really agressive price, but lacks the pure blacks of OLED
2) 83" LG C5 Got it down to $3050
3) Don't waste Money, its only 6 Inches (that's what she said ) and wait for Dolby Vision 2 TVs

I have always gone Sony, curios if anyone on this site is using the C5 and their feedback.

Here's a very helpful video from Rtings about the longevity of 100 different TVs over 3 years, and I couldn't draw a single useful conclusion from it, except that OLED has serious retention issues if you use it as a monitor with a static image.

is it having any issues or are you upgrading for no reason??
I’m stuck with a 55, hdr was not included because Sony decided to leave that out of most that years models . So my 4k Blu-rays are useless until I get a new tv. When it breaks I’ll probably use my 1080p tv since jobs here pay so little and I’m looking for one. But Bravia 9 would be my choice if I replaced my tv … don’t have 2k right now .

85 is what 80% larger ?? Just how massive is one I’d have to go to the store and look.
OLED is fine if you don’t watch static images . I won’t get one.
I considered lg or Samsung also for my next tv but is Sony better??

Now that Sony is Selling 51% of it's TV and HT Stuff to TCL, I may go LG lol

Stick with LG and Samsung.

The Samsung OLED seems to test better than the LGs now, but I would say visually you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I am moving and was thinking about stepping to an 80'" or 85" also, but since there's nothing wrong with the current one, I might wait for Dolby Vision 2 as well.
